Biography

Studied at Aalen University of Applied Sciences, specializing in analytical chemistry; then studied physics at the University of Stuttgart. Doctorate at the University of Lüneburg, Department of Environmental Sciences. Until retirement in 2019, Head of Research and Development Special Analytics in the Operations and Research Laboratory of the State Water Supply. Focus of work (i) analysis of organic trace substances using liquid chromatography and high-resolution mass spectrometry (LC-HRMS), (ii) development and application of non-target analysis in drinking water monitoring and in the trace-analytical description of processes, (iii) effect-directed analysis (EDA) using thin-layer chromatographie and its coupling with non-target analysis. From 2009 - 2022 Chair of the ‘Non-Target Screening’ expert committee of the Water Chemistry Society Division of the Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker. Since 1981 lecturer at Aalen University of Applied Sciences in the subjects of analytical methods and statistics
