Dr. Steven Steiner

Dr. Steven Steiner is Leader Sensor Development at Xylem Analytics Germany, where he coordinates the development of (bio-)sensor technologies and analytical systems for environmental monitoring and water quality. His work focuses on translating (bio-)chemical detection principles into robust analytical tools for field and laboratory applications. He obtained his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Regensburg, where his research focused on chemo- and biosensors and optical detection methods for biomolecular analysis. Following his doctoral studies, Dr. Steiner gained extensive industry experience in leading roles in the biotechnology and diagnostics sector. In addition to his industrial activities, he founded Steven Steiner Consulting, advising companies on the development and manufacturing of diagnostic systems, particularly lateral flow assays. Dr. Steiner’s expertise spans biosensor development, immunoassays, nanoparticle-based detection systems, and environmental analytical technologies. He also serves on the board of the GDCh working group “Chemo- and Biosensors,” contributing to the advancement of analytical sensing technologies.
