Dr. Sebastian Primpke
Biography
Sebastian Primpke is senior researcher at the Alfred-Wegener-Institute for Polar- and Marine Research on the Marine Station Helgoland. He has a background in polymer science and chemistry. He moved into the field of environmental sciences in 2015. Since then, he is interested in the development, harmonization, and evaluation of analytical methods for the identification and quantification of micro- and nanoplastics within all types of environmental matrices. Further, he is member of the expert group AMAP LMEG and part of various DIN and ISO working groups with a focus on the standardization of microplastics analysis.
