Biography

PD Dr. Natalia P. Ivleva is a senior researcher and head of Raman & SEM Group at the Chair of Analytical Chemistry and Water Chemistry & Institute of Water Chemistry (IWC), Technical University of Munich (TUM). She studied chemistry and biology at the Southern Federal University (Rostov-on-Don, Russia). After receiving her Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry in 1997 from the Institute of Chemical Physics (Chernogolovka, Russia), she started her postdoc at the same institute. In 2003, she joined the IWC-TUM. In 2019, Dr. Ivleva accomplished her habilitation “Raman Microspectroscopy for Environmental Analysis”. In 2020 she was appointed as Lecturer (Privatdozent, PD) in Analytical Chemistry at the TUM. In 2020 Natalia received Bunsen-Kirchhoff Award (Aword of the German Working Group for Analytical Spectroscopy (DAAS) of the GDCh Division of Analytical Chemistry). Her research interests focus on the analysis of complex environmental and industrial samples by means of Raman microspectroscopy, surface-enhanced Raman scattering, and stable isotope approach, with special attention on online/highthroughput analytics. She combines Raman-based methods with different separation and fractionation approaches for the identification, quantification, and characterization of various analytes/pollutants, ranging from biofilms and microorganisms through engineered (magnetic) nanoparticles to microplastics and nanoplastics. Natalia and her group published more than 100 scientific articles (over 9 800 citations). She is DIN expert for Joint ISO/TC 147/SC 2 - ISO/TC 61/SC 14 WG (JWG1): Plastics (including microplastics) in waters and related matrices" as well as for ISO/TC 61/SC 14 "Plastics and Environment" / WG 4 „Microplastics“.
