Dr. Katharina Kronenberg
Biography
Dr. Katharina Kronenberg is an analytical chemist and Senior Scientist at the Institute of Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry at the University of Münster in Germany. Her research focuses on multimodal bioimaging and the combination of molecular and elemental imaging techniques to investigate biological systems in health and disease. By implementing advanced data processing algorithms to spectral imaging data, she facilitates a more profound comprehension of the distribution of biomolecules and elements in complex biological tissues.
Katharina studied Chemistry at the University of Münster, where she also completed her doctorate in Analytical Chemistry in 2024. Following her PhD, she joined the research group of Prof. David Clases at the University of Graz in Austria as a postdoctoral researcher. There, she further expanded her expertise in advanced ICP-MS–based techniques, particularly ICP-TOFMS and single particle ICP-MS. In January 2026, she returned to the University of Münster as a Senior Scientist, where she continues her research at the interface of analytical chemistry, life sciences, and data science.
