Dr. Jan Wolf

Dr. Jan-Christoph Wolf gained his dissertation at Technical University of Munich. During his PhD, he merged aerosol and exhaust gas measurement with classical analytical instruments, especially mass spectrometry. Afterwards he joined the group of Prof. Zenobi at ETH Zurich as a postdoctoral fellow. Here he focused on the mass spectrometric on site detection of chemical warfare agents together with the Swiss federal office of civil protection (FOCP). During this project, he worked and published on various ambient ionization techniques especially on plasma-based ionization. Dr. Jan-Christoph Wolf founded Plasmion GmbH in 2016 and, together with his team, further developed the SICRIT technology to a commercial plug & play soft ionization technique. Since the beginning of Plasmion GmbH he is employed as CTO, continuously conducting research with various partners from academia and industry.
