Dr. Caroline Stobe
Biography
Trained as a chemist, Dr. Caroline Stobe worked in quality assurance and digitalization of academic teaching before joining the German EQA provider Reference Institute for Bioanalytics (SPMD-RfB) in 2020 as head of the calibration laboratory in Cologne. Her ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 15195 accredited laboratory focuses on developing and applying reference measurement procedures for measurands in laboratory medicine. It is listed as a reference measurement service for several measurands in the JCTLM database and has been member of the IFCC Network for Standardization of HbA1c since 2017. To foster standardization and quality in laboratory medicine, Dr. Caroline Stobe is active in international societies, committees, and research initiatives (e.g., DGKL, JCTLM, EMN-TLM, and 23IND02 COMET). She currently serves as Chair of the IFCC Working Group on Immunosuppressive Drugs (WG-ID).
Driven by her passion for digitalizing laboratory workflows, she is also active in the Digital LabHub initiative. Her laboratory participated as a pilot in the introduction of the DAkkS digital accreditation seal and played a leading role in the development of a Digital Calibration Certificate (DCC) for measurands in laboratory medicine.
