Dr. Achim Ried

Achim Ried obtained his Diploma in Chemistry at the University of Marburg (Germany) in 1988 and his Ph.D. in Environmental Chemistry in 1992. Achim Ried´s actual appointment is with Xylem as Distinguished Engineer Disinfection and Oxidation. Over 30 years experiences in the Water Industry with different roles and responsibilities: Manager R&D, Technical Director, Environmental-Safety-Health and Quality Manager, Manager Pilot Application and Laboratory. He is member in different water related organisations e.g. IWA (Member of the German National Committee, Chair of AOP Specialized Group), International Ozone Association (past International President), Association of German Chemists (GDCh) and active member of working groups of German Water Associations (DWA, DVGW). His business activities and research interests are in the fields of water and wastewater treatment and Water Reuse. One focus area is the optimization of multi barrier solutions by generating synergies between process technologies including advanced monitoring and control concepts.
