Lecture description

We present an acoustofluidic microfluidic cartridge for rapid plasma separation from whole blood, enabling inline, imaging-based optical assessment of plasma parameters.
Device performance was validated by quantifying free hemoglobin to evaluate hemolysis.
Hemolyzed samples are a frequent source of preanalytical error in laboratory and pointof-care settings, particularly affecting whole blood potassium (K⁺) measurements on blood gas analyzers.
Our approach minimizes hemolysis-related errors, offering a fast, reliable method for plasma preparation compatible with downstream analytical workflows [1].
