A look at the diverse projects on autonomous driving in San Francisco, Shanghai, Oslo, and Hamburg shows that things are now getting underway. All over the world, more and more self-driving vehicles are being used, no longer as part of tests, but as part of the mobility chain. The technology is now mature, and numerous cities and regions are willing to integrate such cars into traffic. There are interesting differences between the US and China on the one hand and Europe on the other.
In this session, we want to shed light on the status of important projects and discuss the technological possibilities. We will also show how driverless vehicles can change urban mobility from a political perspective.
