Autonomous driving has become a core capability in modern vehicles, and the technology is undergoing rapid evolution and paradigm shifts. This session outlines its trajectory: from dependence on HD maps to flexible map-free approaches; from modular systems to end-to-end neural networks; and now to Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models enabling long context understanding and human-like reasoning. In parallel, it explores the path to commercialization—from early pilots to mass production and global deployment—highlighting how autonomous driving is transitioning from frontier innovation to widespread adoption.
