Thomas Drewes ist Diplom-Wirtschaftsingenieur und seit über zehn Jahren bei der Deutschen Bahn in verschiedenen Führungspositionen tätig. Das Thema autonomes Fahren im öffentlichen Verkehr treibt er innerhalb des DB Konzerns schon seit 2016 voran, zunächst in der Rolle des Leiter Strategie Management in der Konzernentwicklung. Seit Dezember 2023 ist er Leiter Autonomes Fahren bei DB Regio Straße, dem größten Anbieter für straßenbasierten ÖPNV in Deutschland. Er ist verantwortlich für das Partnermanagement, die Akquise und Koordination autonomer Bus- und Shuttleverkehre, sowie die Entwicklung eines neuen Produktionssystems für autonome Verkehre.
Thomas Drewes, Head of Autonomous Driving, DB Regio Straße
Thomas Drewes holds a degree in industrial engineering and has held various management positions at Deutsche Bahn for over ten years. He has been driving the topic of autonomous driving in public transport within the DB Group since 2016, initially in the role of Head of Strategy Management in Group Development. Since December 2023, he has been Head of Autonomous Driving at DB Regio Straße, the largest provider of road-based public transport in Germany. He is responsible for partner management, the acquisition and coordination of autonomous bus and shuttle services, as well as the development of a new production system for autonomous services.
