Steve Basra is the Head of Global Auto Industries at Google Cloud, where he leads the company's strategy and go-to-market approach for automotive solutions. In this role, Steve is instrumental in transforming automotive companies into the future by leveraging advanced Google technologies.
With over 25 years of experience in the automotive industry, Steve joined Google in 2024. Prior to that, he held various roles at Hyundai AutoEver America, including Chief Digital and Technology Officer, as well as Chief Operating Officer. Earlier in his career, Steve co-founded and served as CEO of Toyota Connected, a technology startup focused on utilizing AI and data science to develop the next-generation connected vehicle platforms.
Steve began his career in the United Kingdom and has since held global leadership positions in Belgium, India, Japan, and the United States.
Steve is available for customer engagements across Automotive, manufacturing, and mobility sectors. Specialty topics include automotive & manufacturing systems, connected vehicles platforms, in-vehicle technology (including all multimedia systems), dealer systems, mobility platforms, as well as AI/GenAI. Steve is available for internal and external events with customers, partners, analysts, and ISVs. Experience includes CEO, COO, Chief Digital Officer, & Chief Technology Officer roles.
Steve holds a Master of Engineering degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Nottingham University in Nottingham, United Kingdom.
